Our water bill is usually a little higher than it should be. When I was diligently working on my vegetable garden,... it was a lot higher.

"We must have a running toilet or a water leak somewhere," I grumpily complained to Richard after I opened our most recent Summber bill to discover we owed $300- plus dollars. He immediately made reference to the garden and the fact that we'd left the sprinklers on all night,... or all day at least two or three times that billing cycle, and then he added,

"Your long showers don't really help either."

Hmpf. Yeah... they actually do.

I love water. It's a very calming force for me, and it helps quiet me so I can hear the stuff that really matters in making positive change.

So, this morning, more purposed than the day before... working my way back to where I was, to that place in time where I initially thought it the most horrible era in my life, only to realize it was the best thing that could've ever happened to me.

I sat down in the shower and closed my eyes and waited for my mind to run through my day's to-do list, how much I hate my job and am not liking some of the things that are going on in my life and my house right now... and then got down to the business of things, ME. Because, at the end of the day, that's all that really matters.

At the end of it all, I was afraid to step out the shower. I was whelmed,... not over or under, not sobbing tears of happiness or joy. Just whelmed and afraid I was going to forget everything I just concluded.

The simple solution is to think of those things that are good and pure and true and uplifiting and happy and a delight and joy.

The spirit of Michael Jackson came upon me and all of a sudden I'm going through the lyrics of "Man in the Mirror."

"... no message could've been any clearer, if you wanna make the world a better place... take a look in the mirror and make that change."

If I want to see more love, I need to give more love
If I want to see more happiness, I need to be happy
If I want to see honesty, I need to be more honest
If I want to see peace, I need to be peaceful
If I want to see achievements, I need to achieve
If I want to see prosperity, I need to prosper
If I want to see forgiveness, I need to forgive
If I want to see increase, I need to increase
If I want to see joy, I need to be more joyful

No excuses.
